Darren Hayes
Director of Engineering in Research & Development, ClickDimensions

1. What do you like best about your role at ClickDimensions?

The people. I look forward to logging in each morning and working with a diverse group. The team here has done a fantastic job of creating a positive work culture for remote employees. I can’t wait to get back to the Cork, Ireland office once things reopen and meet some of the team in person.

2. What is one piece of advice you would like to share with ClickDimensions customers?

The two things that have impressed me the most since I joined in March are our customer support team and our marketing services team. Our customer support team recently did a presentation on their progress over the past five years, and it’s clear to me why customers rave about our support. We truly have a team that genuinely cares about our customers’ needs. If you haven’t utilized our marketing services, you should check that out. We have an expert team and their job is to help you increase your revenue! If you haven’t had an opportunity to reach out yet, I would advise you to do so.

3. What’s new in your department or area of the company that’s exciting for ClickDimensions customers?

My team’s responsibility is to ensure everything related to emails works as expected. We are building a new engineering team and I’m excited by the talent we’ve managed to attract. We recently launched an enhanced transactional email service based on customer feedback identified by our product team. We’ll soon roll out user interface enhancements that will make customers’ email messaging campaigns even easier to manage, so that’s exciting as well.

4. Where do you draw inspiration from?

Jogging. Can’t beat plugging in my headphones and hitting the road for some headspace. It’s a good opportunity to extract myself from day-to-day tasks. I’ve also got a good group of mentors within ClickDimensions. I like that it’s easy to pick up the phone and speak to anyone within the company and bounce ideas off each other.

5. Where is your favorite place you’ve ever been and what made it so great?

The last time I was on a flight was February 2020, right before the pandemic hit, and that was to Austin. So, Austin will always hold a place in my heart! A great city with a great slogan – “Keep Austin Weird”. Closer to home, and somewhere that I’ve only come to appreciate as an adult, is Kerry in the southwest of Ireland. World-class scenery, golf, beaches and craic, all within a two-hour drive of my home.
