As the Founder and Chief Executive Officer at Ignite Social Media, Jim Tobin is no stranger to the world of social media marketing and has seen immense changes in social media over the 15 years the company has been in business.

In his recently concluded guest spot on Adtastic, from The Daily Ad Brief, he offered his insights on the changes and growth that social media channels have gone through throughout the years.

According to Jim, “Tiktok is very strong and Snapchat is actually making a surprising come back.” This trend also has had a major impact on advertising strategies, as brands have had to adjust their approach to reach consumers who are increasingly cutting the cord.

The good news, according to Tobin, is that this shift has also opened up new opportunities for creative marketers. However, the downside is that it has also created a challenge in attracting and hiring talent. With more options than ever before, businesses have struggled to find the right mix of skills and experience.

As we move into the next two years, it will be interesting to see how these trends continue to shape the world of advertising on social media.

“it seemed like a really good opportunity to sort of invent the space and hopefully lead it as we go and it’s been a 15 year ride.”, Jim shared as Ignite Social Media will be turning 15th on July 2nd. Cheers to Ignite!
