Email  still dominates and measuring employee engagement in a dispersed workforce is challenging, PoliteMail survey finds.

To better assess the challenges and opportunities for internal corporate communications, Ragan Communications and PoliteMail surveyed more than 250 communicators in May 2022. We asked about the effectiveness of comms channels and platforms, measurement and analytics, technology and tools, what’s working and what isn’t … and, perhaps most importantly, how pros can improve their current comms channels and methods of communication.

Email remains the most used form of communication, hybrid is the top work model and communicators continue to struggle with reaching employees wherever they are.

Other notable highlights from this year’s survey:

  • SharePoint took the lead as the top intranet platform and YouTube as the top video platform
  • Analytics and measurement of comms across channels remains a challenge
  • If given additional budget, most respondents want more staff
  • There’s a demand for more automated systems to deliver content and language translation
  • And, much more.
