Apple has officially unveiled a new range of products this week, headlined by the introduction of the first-ever touchscreen MacBook Pro. The company also revealed significant updates to its iPad mini, iMac, and MacBook Pro lines, featuring the latest generation of silicon and display technologies.
First Touchscreen Mac Arrives
The most notable announcement is the new high-end MacBook Pro, which marks three firsts for the company. It is the first Mac to feature a touchscreen, the first to use an OLED display, and the first to include a Dynamic Island interface. The device is powered by the same M5 Pro and M5 Max chips found in previous models, ensuring consistent performance levels.
Apple has also reintroduced a glowing Apple logo on the back of the new laptop. This design element has not been present on the company’s laptops for nearly a decade, marking a return to a classic aesthetic feature.
iPad mini Gets Major Upgrade
Apple described the new iPad mini as the “biggest update ever” for its smallest tablet. The refresh includes a new OLED display, replacing the previous LCD panels. Under the hood, the device is powered by the A20 Pro chip, which Apple states will deliver improved performance.
Additional features include a nano-texture display option for users who work in bright environments and a revamped speaker system. The new iPad mini is also Apple’s first tablet to receive an IP67 rating, making it resistant to water and dust.
M6 Silicon Brings Connectivity Updates
The new MacBook Pro and iMac models feature the M6 chip, offering faster performance compared to their predecessors. These updates also bring improved connectivity, with the MacBook Pro supporting Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 7. The iMac model includes Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6 support.
The iMac remains available in its signature array of colors, including green, yellow, orange, pink, purple, blue, and silver. The new MacBook Pro is offered in silver and space black, maintaining the color options from the previous generation.
All new devices, including the touchscreen MacBook Pro, the updated iPad mini, and the M6 Macs, will start arriving to customers and Apple Stores on November 6.
