OBOOK Holdings’ OwlPay Hits $130m Annualised Payment Volume

OBOOK Holdings has reported that its cross-border payment platform, OwlPay Harbor, has reached an annualised payment volume of approximately US$130 million. The figure, based on trailing 30-day data through 13 August 2026, marks a significant acceleration in activity for the newer arm of the company’s business.

The company also noted six consecutive months of sequential volume growth. July payment volume rose 107.6% compared to June, while the total number of transactions grew by 109.5%. OBOOK stated that this parallel growth in transaction counts and volume indicates the increase is driven by a rising number of completed payments rather than a small number of large individual deals.

Harbor Platform Growth and Client Base

As of 31 July, OwlPay Harbor had 79 contracted enterprise clients at various stages of integration and production. The platform entered commercial scaling approximately six months ago. Chief executive Darren Wang said the company spent more than five years building regulatory capabilities, banking relationships, and compliance systems before beginning this phase.

“Harbor entered commercial scaling only approximately six months ago, and it has delivered sequential payment volume growth in every month since,” Wang said.

Chief financial officer Winnie Lin added that a significant portion of the infrastructure supporting the platform is already in place. She suggested this setup would provide operating leverage as volume continues to scale.

    Revenue Context and Competitive Landscape

Despite the strong activity on the newer platform, consolidated revenue for the six months ended 30 June 2026 is expected to range between US$3.85 million and US$3.90 million. The substantial majority of this revenue is generated by OBOOK’s established Taiwan-based businesses. Harbor contributed only modestly to the first-half revenue line because most contracted enterprise clients were still working through integration, compliance review, and pilot transaction stages.

The cross-border enterprise payments segment is highly competitive. Established players such as Wise Business, Airwallex, Nium, and Convera compete on corridor depth, settlement speed, and pricing. OBOOK’s positioning uses digital currencies as a settlement rail, with recipients receiving local fiat into bank accounts. This model mirrors strategies pursued by several other fintechs to reduce correspondent banking costs on difficult corridors, particularly in Asia and emerging markets.

Platforms using stablecoins or other digital currencies as settlement intermediaries face evolving oversight in virtually every major market. In the European Union, the Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulation establishes a clear licensing framework for crypto-asset service providers. In the US, stablecoin legislation remains contested. OBOOK operates subsidiaries across Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, Thailand, Malaysia, and Poland, creating a complex compliance map.

Investors tracking this story will want to see what portion of the 79 contracted clients have moved into recurring production activity. The release notes that OwlPay earns transaction-based fees but does not disclose the yield per corridor, which limits any independent assessment of revenue quality relative to volume.
