Jake E. Lee shot by bullets in the forearm, back, and foot, with one shot breaking a rib. Fortunately, none of the bullets hit vital organs. A neighbor who heard the gunfire quickly called 911 and remained hidden to protect his family while awaiting the arrival of the Las Vegas Metro Police. Authorities arrived shortly after and transported Lee to a nearby hospital, where he remains in intensive care but is stable and recovering. His dog, which was with him during the shooting, was unharmed.
The Las Vegas Metro Police Department has launched an investigation, but no arrests have been made as of yet. The police statement said, “Officers arrived and located a male victim suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The male was transported to the hospital. This is an ongoing investigation.” According to sources close to the investigation, the attack on Lee appears to be random, and there is no indication that the musician was specifically targeted.
