Samsung is preparing to expand its audio lineup with the Galaxy Buds On, a new pair of clip-on earbuds. The company officially confirmed the device earlier this month, and new leaks have provided a clearer picture of when and where it will be available. The earbuds are scheduled to launch in South Korea on October 27, according to reports.
Galaxy Buds On Release Date and Pricing
While the South Korean launch date is set, the release timeline for other regions remains less certain. Retail pages in Europe have listed the earbuds with varying dates, which collectively suggest a release in the first half of December. This timeline could also apply to the United States market, though Samsung has not officially confirmed a US launch date.
Pricing details have also emerged from various sources. In South Korea, the Galaxy Buds On will carry a price tag of 299,000 won, which is approximately $220. Samsung did not specify the price for the US market. However, Swiss retail listings show two different prices: CHF 179 (around $217) and CHF 199 (around $241). Industry observers believe the lower figure may represent a promotional discount, while the higher amount is likely the recommended retail price.
Galaxy Buds On Design and Future Audio Devices
New animations obtained by The Cipher Project offer the most detailed look at the Galaxy Buds On to date. The visuals provide a 360-degree view of both the earbuds and their charging case. The case features a rounded, cube-like design that closely resembles the one used for the Galaxy Buds 4 series. Inside, the earbuds sit with their curved bands visible through a smoky, transparent lid. These bands are designed to wrap around the ear, securing the clip-on form factor.
Beyond the Galaxy Buds On, Samsung is reportedly developing other audio products with distinct designs. One device, internally referred to as the Galaxy T1 or Buds Canal 5, features an ear-hook design. Another project, potentially named the Galaxy Studio, appears to be Samsung’s first entry into the over-ear headphone market.
