Jackery has introduced the Explorer 100D, marking the company’s entry into the ultra-compact segment of the portable power market. The new device is the smallest power station the manufacturer has produced, designed to fit easily into carry-on luggage while providing reliable energy for travel and daily use.
Unlike many competitors that rely on standard lithium-ion cells, the Explorer 100D utilizes lithium iron phosphate (LFP) technology. Jackery states that these cells are engineered to last up to eight years of regular use, offering a lifespan of 3,000 charge cycles. This durability is a significant upgrade over traditional lithium-ion batteries, which typically degrade faster under frequent charging conditions.
Compact Design and Battery Capacity
The device measures just 4.6 by 3.4 by 3.4 inches and weighs 1.87 pounds. Despite its small footprint, it houses a 96Wh battery, equivalent to 30,000mAh of capacity. This specific capacity allows the unit to pass through airport security regulations for carry-on bags, making it a practical choice for frequent travelers who need to keep phones, cameras, and laptops charged during long flights.
Jackery has included an integrated handle on the chassis and offers an optional shoulder strap for added convenience. The compact form factor does not compromise on connectivity. The front panel features two 140W USB-C ports and one 18W USB-A port. While the total maximum output is 158W, users should note that power delivery will be distributed across the ports if multiple devices are connected simultaneously.

Solar Charging and Availability
For off-grid scenarios, the Explorer 100D supports up to 100W of direct solar input. Jackery claims that using a compatible solar panel can recharge the battery to 80 percent capacity in approximately 90 minutes. This rapid recharge capability addresses one of the common pain points associated with smaller portable power stations, which often take several hours to fully replenish.
The Jackery Explorer 100D is available for purchase starting November 15th through Walmart for $99. Customers who prefer not to wait can currently buy a two-pack from Costco for $179.99. While smaller and cheaper 30,000mAh power banks exist on the market, the inclusion of LFP cells positions this device as a long-term investment for users who prioritize battery longevity over initial cost savings.
