NASA is inviting members of the media to attend the 2026 von Braun Space Exploration Symposium, scheduled for Monday, Oct. 26, through Wednesday, Oct. 28, at the University of Alabama in Huntsville. The annual event brings together leaders from government, industry, policy, and academia to discuss the current landscape of space exploration and chart a path forward.
Focus on Artemis and Lunar Infrastructure
This year’s symposium centers on humanity’s return to the Moon, sustainable lunar infrastructure, advanced space propulsion, and the evolving space workforce. Panels will cover specific missions, including Artemis II and Artemis III, alongside discussions on building utilities and infrastructure for sustainable lunar operations.

Additional topics include Moon base supply chain resilience, space nuclear technology, and navigating the new NASA workforce. The event will also feature space propulsion flash talks and sessions on engineering the future, complete with keynotes and awards presentations.
Media Registration and Interviews
Media interested in participating in-person or online must register through the American Astronomical Society. The symposium is organized by the American Astronautical Society in collaboration with NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama.

For those seeking interviews with NASA speakers during the event, media must contact Lance D. Davis at lance.d.davis@nasa.gov or Joel Wallace at joel.w.wallace@nasa.gov. Lance D. Davis can also be reached at 256-640-9065 for Marshall Space Flight Center inquiries.
