Samsung is broadening the reach of its artificial intelligence tools on Galaxy smartphones by adding support for five new languages. The update brings Hungarian and Malay to the core translation and transcription features, while Polish, Thai, and Vietnamese are added to the Bixby voice assistant.
This expansion increases the number of languages supported by Live Translate and related tools to 24. The company stated that the move is designed to make AI experiences more accessible to users who prefer to interact with their devices in their native tongues.
Galaxy AI Translation Tools Reach 24 Languages
The latest update focuses on features that handle text and speech conversion. Call Assist, Note Assist, Interpreter, and Transcript Assist now include Hungarian and Malay. These tools allow users to translate phone calls, summarize notes, and interpret conversations in real time.
Now Nudge, a feature that suggests relevant next steps based on the content currently displayed on the screen, also added eight new languages. This brings the total language support for Now Nudge to 24 as well. The update ensures that users in these regions can receive contextual suggestions without language barriers.
The rollout for these new Galaxy AI languages is scheduled to begin in the coming weeks. Samsung has not provided a specific date for the full deployment of the translation and transcription updates, but the expansion is part of a broader effort to localize its AI capabilities.
Bixby Voice Assistant Gains Three New Languages
Bixby, Samsung’s device control agent, is receiving a separate but simultaneous update. The assistant allows users to control their phones through natural conversation rather than navigating complex menus. With the addition of Polish, Thai, and Vietnamese, Bixby now supports 12 languages in total.

This expansion allows users in Poland, Thailand, and Vietnam to issue voice commands in their local languages. The update aims to make device control more intuitive for users who may not be comfortable using English or Korean for system commands.
The Bixby language update is set to roll out on October 14. This date precedes the wider deployment of the Galaxy AI language updates, suggesting a phased approach to the release. Users with compatible Galaxy devices should see the changes appear automatically as the update pushes through the software distribution network.
The expansion of Galaxy AI languages reflects Samsung’s strategy to compete in global markets where local language support is a key differentiator. By increasing the number of supported languages, the company is attempting to reduce the friction for non-English speakers using advanced AI features.
For users experiencing issues with the update, Samsung directs customers to its official support page. Media inquiries regarding the expansion can be directed through the company’s media contact form.
