Anker has introduced the Eufy Window Cam E10, a security device designed to monitor the exterior of a home from the inside. The camera mounts directly to a window pane, allowing users to view their yard, driveway, or front porch without exposing the hardware to outdoor weather conditions.
The device joins a niche category of window-mounted security cameras, following a similar concept to the Wyze Window Cam released nearly a year ago. However, the Eufy Window Cam E10 distinguishes itself with higher resolution capabilities and a more adjustable viewing angle.
Higher Resolution and Adjustable Lens
The E10 records video at a maximum resolution of 2.5K, which translates to 2,688 by 1,520 pixels. This provides significantly more detail than the 1080p limit found on competing models. The camera captures this footage at 15 frames per second, which is sufficient for identifying faces and license plates in a security context.
To ensure the camera captures the desired area, the lens offers a 105-degree horizontal and 57-degree vertical field of view. Unlike fixed-angle competitors, the E10 includes a manual adjustment wheel on the back. This allows users to tilt the camera up or down by 25 degrees, accommodating different window heights and installation spots.
Installation is designed to be quick, taking less than a minute. The camera adheres to the glass using a mounting sticker that helps reduce glare and reflections from the interior lighting. Because the unit stays indoors, it does not require weatherproofing, simplifying its internal design.
AI Detection and Storage Options
The Eufy Window Cam E10 includes AI-powered motion detection. The system can differentiate between humans, animals, and vehicles, sending specific alerts to the user’s device. This feature helps reduce false alarms caused by passing cars or neighborhood pets.
Audio recording is handled by an internal microphone. Anker notes that the microphone is tuned to capture louder noises, which is a practical adjustment given the camera’s position inside the home and the potential for glass to dampen sound.
Users have two options for storing footage. The camera supports local storage via a microSD card with a capacity of up to 256GB. Alternatively, users can subscribe to a cloud storage service for remote access to their recordings.
The device lacks a rechargeable battery, meaning it must remain plugged into a power source at all times. This requires users to plan the placement of the camera around available power outlets and manage the routing of the power cord to maintain a clean appearance.
The Eufy Window Cam E10 is available for purchase now through Anker’s online store and Amazon. The price is set at $79.99. This places it at a premium compared to the Wyze Window Cam, which retails for $34.98. The higher cost reflects the upgraded 2.5K sensor and the adjustable lens mechanism.
