Anker has released the Eufy Window Camera E10, a security device designed for renters and homeowners who cannot or prefer not to drill holes in their exterior walls. Priced at $80 in the United States, the camera adheres to the inside of a window pane, pointing outward to capture footage of the property. The device was first introduced at the IFA trade show earlier this year and is now available for purchase.
Installation and Optical Design
The Eufy Window Camera E10 relies on a residue-free adhesive pad for mounting, eliminating the need for screws or tools. Once attached, users can manually adjust the lens with a 25-degree downward tilt to frame their desired view. This setup allows for monitoring driveways, front doors, or yards without altering the building’s exterior.
Addressing a common issue with indoor-outdoor filming, Anker designed the lens to sit flush against the glass. This proximity helps prevent background light from entering the lens, which typically causes reflections and glare when filming through windows. The company notes that the camera performs best on clear glass with one or two panes. Thick glass, frosted surfaces, or patterned windows may result in significant glare or poor image quality.
Video Quality and Storage
The device records video in 2.5K resolution and includes an 8x digital zoom function. For low-light conditions, it utilizes MaxColor Night Vision technology to maintain color clarity after dark. Footage is stored locally on a microSD card with support for up to 256GB of capacity. The card is not included in the box.
Power is supplied via a single USB-C cable. This requirement means the camera must be placed near an electrical outlet inside the home. There is no battery option, which limits placement flexibility for windows located far from power sources. The camera supports dual-band Wi-Fi, connecting to both 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks for stable 24/7 recording.
Smart Features and Audio Limitations
AI-driven recognition for humans, pets, and vehicles is built into the firmware. These alerts do not require a monthly subscription when using local storage. A built-in microphone captures ambient sound from outside. However, Anker warns that audio reliability varies based on glass thickness and insulation. Residents in high-rise apartments may also experience blind spots due to the camera’s fixed angle and the height of the building.
