Google has officially confirmed the arrival of the Android Family Hub, a new feature designed to centralize family management tools directly within the Android Settings app. The company announced the feature in its latest System Services release notes for November 2026, describing it as a dedicated space for managing family accounts and shared resources.
This move simplifies a process that has historically required users to navigate between the Family Link app, the Google Play Store, and various Google account pages. By placing these controls in a single location, Google aims to reduce the friction involved in managing a Google family group.
Features and Functionality
The Android Family Hub is set to arrive with Google Play services version 26.43. While the official release notes provide limited detail, earlier reports from Pixel 11 owners who tested the feature offer a clear picture of its capabilities.
The hub places a Family option at the very top of the Settings app, a placement strategy that mirrors Apple’s Family Sharing controls on iOS. Tapping this option opens a dashboard that lists family members and provides an overview of shared subscriptions. These include Google One storage, Google AI, and YouTube Premium.
Beyond subscriptions, the hub surfaces Calendar events involving multiple family members and displays current shared locations for family members. It also provides feature suggestions tailored for the family manager, streamlining the oversight of family accounts.
Availability and Rollout
Google has not specified which devices will receive the Android Family Hub in its initial release. Early testing was observed on the Pixel 11, but because the feature is distributed through Google Play Services rather than as a Pixel-specific update, it has the potential to reach a wider range of Android phones.
Users should expect a gradual rollout. Google Play Services updates are deployed slowly across different devices, meaning the new Family Hub may not appear on all compatible phones immediately. The company has not provided a specific timeline for when the feature will become available to the general public.
